Valmiki Tiger Reserve
Bihar's only tiger reserve, Valmiki occupies the Terai region bordering Nepal's Chitwan National Park. Together they form one of the most important trans-boundary tiger landscapes in South Asia.

Valmiki is the only tiger reserve in Bihar and one of the least visited, keeping its ecosystem pristine.
It is contiguous with Nepal's Chitwan National Park, forming a critical transboundary landscape.
The Gandak River flows along its boundary, providing habitat for freshwater dolphins.
The name comes from the ancient Valmiki Ashram, believed to be where the sage Valmiki composed the Ramayana.
